Global Absolute Return Strategies Fund (GARS)
Absolute Returns Global Bond Strategies Fund (ARGBS)
Follow the leader… in absolute return funds
Many competitors have followed our lead since we launched the first retail absolute return fund in Ireland in 2008. Since its launch, GARS has been very successful for advisers and clients providing consistent investment returns.
Further enhancing our absolute return capabilities we continue to lead the way with the new Absolute Return Global Bond Strategies (ARGBS) Fund. ARGBS has a target return of cash** +3% per annum (gross of charges) over rolling 3 year periods.
The launch of ARGBS combined with the consistent investment performance of GARS maintains our position as leaders in absolute return funds.
The table below highlights the main changes between GARS and ARGBS:
Combination of different assets and strategies across global markets.
Wide range of fixed income strategies including credit, government bonds and currencies.
*As measured by the 6 month European Interbank Offer Rate (Euribor)
** As measured by the 3 month European Interbank Offer Rate (Euribor)
These figures are a guide only and will not be exact. This is because the annual management charge is applied in the unit price on a daily basis, whereas the rebate is achieved by a applying a credit to the policy on a monthly basis. This rebate applies to funds and self-directed options on Synergy products. The rebate is not linked to FBRC and it is not a renewal commission payment to you.
Our Global Absolute Return Strategies Fund (GARS) aims to provide positive investment returns over the medium to long term in all market conditions.
It has a target return of cash* +5% per annum (gross of charges) over rolling three year periods.
GARS is ideal for investors looking for competitive returns but with less of the volatility associated with stock market investment – it is not a substitute for cash or deposits.

The Absolute Return Global Bond Strategies (ARGBS) has a target of cash* +3% per annum (gross of charges) over rolling three year periods. This means that over any given three year period, we would expect the average yearly return to be 3% greater than the return available on cash* over that period (before charges) although remember this isnt guaranteed.
